Why Professional Installation

Safe, Code-Compliant Outlets

More than just adding a plug — it's about capacity and safety.

Outlets seem simple, but improper installation causes house fires every year. We ensure circuits aren't overloaded, wiring is properly sized, boxes are securely mounted, and GFCI protection is installed where code requires it. Whether you need one outlet or a whole room rewired, we do it right.

  • GFCI outlets for kitchens, baths & outdoors
  • USB outlets with built-in charging
  • 240V outlets for appliances & tools
  • Dedicated circuits to prevent overloads
Installation Process

How Outlet Installation Works

Properly wired and tested for safety.

Assessment

We determine the best location, check circuit capacity, and plan the wiring route for the new outlet.

Circuit Planning

Some outlets need dedicated circuits (appliances, workshops). We'll add new circuits at the panel if required.

Installation

We cut the box opening, run the wiring, connect the outlet, and install the cover plate.

Testing

Every outlet is tested for proper voltage, grounding, and polarity. GFCI outlets are verified with a trip test.

Common Questions

Outlet Installation FAQ

Where do I need GFCI outlets?

Code requires GFCI protection in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, outdoors, laundry rooms, and anywhere within 6 feet of a water source. If your home has older two-prong outlets in these areas, upgrading to GFCI outlets is a smart safety improvement.

Can you add outlets to a room that doesn't have enough?

Yes. We add outlets by tapping into existing circuits (if they have capacity) or running new circuits from the panel. This is common in older homes and in rooms being converted to home offices.

What's a dedicated circuit and when do I need one?

A dedicated circuit serves only one outlet or appliance. You need them for refrigerators, microwaves, garbage disposals, space heaters, and workshop tools. They prevent overloads and tripped breakers when high-draw appliances run.

Can you install USB outlets?

Yes. USB outlets have built-in charging ports so you don't need adapters. They're great for kitchens, bedrooms, and home offices. We can replace existing outlets with USB versions or add new USB outlets.

Can you install 240V outlets for appliances or tools?

Yes. We install 240V outlets for dryers, ranges, welders, air compressors, and other high-power equipment. These require dedicated circuits with heavier wiring run directly from your panel.

My outlets don't have a ground — can you fix that?

Two-prong ungrounded outlets are common in older homes. We can upgrade them to grounded three-prong outlets by running new grounded wiring, or install GFCI outlets which provide protection even without a ground wire.
